ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I have a fundamental interest in plant and animal life, drawing much of my influence from nature. My work is inspired by my plants and garden, and frequent hikes in our natural environment. I look within nature to find refuge and my work channels the consideration of this relationship. Colour is my passion. Recent painted collages allow me to combine a love of both painting and sculpture by breaking down elements of a composition and restructuring them in layers of colour and form.
